San Francisco born und raised folk singer Lucia Comnes did some music lessons at a school in Olten, Switzerland, together with her guitarist Marco Piazzolla. A wonderful experience for musicians and students alike.
Not so easy to find musicians in Switzerland who are able to create that "Southern front porch session feeling". But Italian/Swiss band Marco Marchi & The Mojo Workers can. We were lucky to get some studio time between two shows of the band to record the instrumental track for "Homegrown Tomatoes"
A first recording session for The New Songbook took place in Basel, Switzerland. We recorded a first series of of old classics like People In Your Neighborhood, I'm Walkin, What A Wonderful World and Choo'n'Gum. We had gathered some of Switzerland's finest musicians and they did a wonderful job. The vocals later were recorded in New York and Nashville.
